Our Stance on Food Insecurity

We are deeply committed to addressing food insecurity as a core aspect of our mission. In our city, nearly half of households are grappling the burdens of high rent, leaving limited resources for essentials like groceries. Despite significant efforts and investments, poverty rates have remained stubbornly high, underscoring the ongoing need for support and sustainable solutions.
Through our programs and initiatives we aim to alleviate the strain of food insecurity and empower individuals and families to access nutritious meals without sacrificing other necessities.
How We Address Food Insecurity
We partner with local organizations and stakeholders to redistribute rescued food through our pop-up model. Our efforts focus on reaching food deserts in North, West, and Southwest Philly, providing residents with groceries. We are currently endeavoring to secure a permanent food sponsor to enhance our outreach efforts.

Nourishing our Houseless Neighbors
We believe that access to nutritious meals is a fundamental right for all individuals, including those experiencing homelessness. Our commitment to serving the houseless community in Center City and Kensington is a vital part of our food security efforts. Through our meal distribution program, we provide meals to those who need them most.
We understand that homelessness presents numerous challenges, and food insecurity is often at the forefront of those struggles. To help alleviate some of the burdens faced by our houseless neighbors, we partner with Double Trellis to distribute meals to individuals in need. These meals not only provide sustenance but also offer a sense of dignity and compassion during difficult times.
Partners

We are continually seeking partnerships with organizations to ensure residents receive food. If you’re interested in sponsoring a future grocery or meal giveaway, please reach out to us via email.
