Philly Girls with a Mission
Gentle Gratitude was founded in 2021 by Unique Ratcliff (left) and Deneisha Cook (right), members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., an organization founded on the principles of Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service.
Gentle Gratitude’s initial initiative focused on providing blankets and gloves to houseless community members in Center City, Philadelphia. Building on this foundation, Gentle Gratitude expanded its operations to provide winter coats to over 300 community members in West Philadelphia within the first couple of months of operations.
Currently, Deneisha serves as the Executive Director and dedicates countless hours to providing neighbors with essential resources to help them live a dignified life.
Mission
Our mission at Gentle Gratitude is to provide low-income communities in Philadelphia with access to essential resources that promote dignity, stability, and empowerment. Through targeted events and sustainable initiatives, we strive to alleviate financial hardships, foster a sense of hope and opportunity, and create pathways for community members to thrive. By ensuring access to fundamental necessities, we empower individuals to lead dignified lives and build a stronger, more equitable community.
